Setting & Facilities

The Village sits on 132 acres of donated land, in a tranquil setting in southwest Indiana. Rolling hills, woods and landscaped areas create an appealing outdoor environment beautiful in all seasons. Our residents and their guests enjoy pleasant, quiet surroundings near downtown Evansville and close to a regional airport and major interstates.

Although walking trails and more landscaping are planned, our current grounds have already earned acclaim. In 2005, Jacob’s Village won first place among nonprofit facilities in Evansville’s annual citywide landscape-judging contest. The Village’s intention is to provide an attractive, inviting home for its residents. Obviously, our efforts toward achieving that objective are well underway!

Jacob’s Village is being established in phases. The initial segment of Phase I opened for occupancy in 2004, when we welcomed our first 5 residents. Currently our community includes 3 buildings, with more to follow as demand warrants and funding allows.

Village - Phase I

Phase I is being developed as a small neighborhood of 6 homes and a community center. Each home provides modern, comfortable, family-like accommodations and supports 4 residents. A live-in coordinator oversees each home. Our residents have private bedrooms, semi-private bathrooms, and shared community living space that includes a kitchen, dining room and living room.

A centrally located community center will serve as an area where residents enjoy enrichment, recreational and social activities, devotional services and, occasionally, share meals together.

Village - Later Phases

As the Village community develops over time, later phases will expand both residential and support service options. Included in longer-term plans are:

• Semi-Independent Living Homes
  (for individuals who have developed many independent living skills and who wish to prepare to live outside Jacob's Village)
• Community Living Support
  (for people living outside Jacob's Village who want to participate in some on-campus Village activities)
• Independent Living Homes
• Assisted Living
• Skilled Nursing Care
• Conference Facilities
• Shopping Area
• On-site Vocational Opportunities
• Recreational Facilities including an Indoor Pool, fitness center and multi-purpose sports fields
