Our Mission
We are guided by a belief in the uniqueness of every individual and the right of that individual to realize his or her full potential. The mission of Jacob's Village is:
"To support adults with Functional Disabilities in their pursuit of developing life skills, interests and maximum independence."
To fulfill this mission, Jacob's Village offers a comprehensive program of residential, vocational, recreational, enrichment and social support services in an environment that fosters lifelong learning, self-sufficiency and dynamic community.
Guiding Principles
Jacob's Village is a nonsectarian, private, not-for-profit organization guided by Christian principles. People of all faiths are welcome as residents, supporters and friends. The staff, Board and operations of the Village are guided by the following beliefs:
- All people, regardless of age, race or abilities, are to be treated with dignity and respect.
- People with disabilities have a right to be involved in all aspects of community life.
- People with disabilities have the right to choose where and with whom they will live, work and recreate.
- Our society has a responsibility to accept and include all individuals, regardless of their abilities.
- We are partners with and advocates for all people with disabilities.
